Lead Capture

Your first contact with a potential new client is usually through your website. Embedding one of Dubsado’s lead capture forms on your site allows you to capture your potential new client’s details (as you would with any contact form) but it then automatically sets them up as a lead so that you don’t need to add them manually. This not only saves you a boring admin task but also means that in the Dubsado dashboard you can easily track whether a prospective lead is now a confirmed client and see at-a-glance what stage they are at in your process.


Contracts are one of the most important parts of running a small, service-based business. Dubsado cleverly allows you to create contract templates for your various services and then automatically customises them, once applied to a client/project in the backend, with their name and specific project dates etc. As with everything in Dubsado you can apply your own branding to the contracts for extra professionalism and clients can even sign digitally directly in Dubsado.


Dubsado also makes invoicing simple. If you offer set packages, you can set them up in the backend so that they can be added to invoices with a couple of quick clicks. There is also the option to create payment schedules and automatic payment reminders so that clients can pay you in instalments if that’s how you work. I even have mine linked to my accounting software Xero so that my clients can pay online.

Canned Emails

The beauty of Dubsado is that you can automate your processes as much or as little as you’d like. And if you do decide to go all in on the automation front then your business won’t lose its personal touch. One of my favourite features of Dubsado is that you can set up a whole suite of canned emails and even if you decide to automate them based on certain triggers (see #5 Workflows below), you can still personalise them. They are sent from your email address with your signature and logo at the bottom and will even pull through your client’s name so it is addressed directly to them.


Last but certainly not least, setting up automated workflows is probably the most important part of Dubsado for organising your business. They can make your whole customer journey feel effortless, streamlined and professional. By linking various steps in your client’s journey together, you can create an automated sequence that sends forms, emails and scheduling invites.
